Quite simply we believe education and awareness is the key to preventing pressure ulcers. With so many different risk assessments out there today, whether it be on paper or electronic, they can be difficult to find if not by the patients bedside, so when that first assessment has taken place, why not apply this awareness magnet to their name board or meds cabinet so it's a visual reminder to all staff members that the patient has been assessed at risk of developing a pressure ulcer. We believe it's a simple standardised approach like this that will have all staff members, nurses, physios, HCAs, and OTs all on the same page for the patients care in helping to prevent pressure ulcers.
